Applications are now being accepted for the Virtual Hi-Tech program at Eisenhower High School. VHTH will be implemented as a school-within-a-school model delivering a rigorous technology-enhanced core curriculum and real world experiences to participating students. Students will participate in interdisciplinary project-based learning activities that incorporate other subject matter skills. Students will have access to Virtual Hi-Tech High programs upon application and commitment to participate in a rigorous, 8-hour extended school day. The extended day schedule will focus on the development of technology-infused student project learning opportunities, internships, and on-site business learning opportunities.
The program is open to 75 incoming juniors in the 2001-2002 school year. Students must have completed Algebra I, have at least a 2.0 grade point average and have successfully completed at least 15 credits in both English and science. Students who don't meet the requirements may also apply and will be considered, space permitting.
Deadline for applications is April 27, 2001.
An information meeting for interested parents and students will be held on Wednesday, April 18, at 7:00 p.m. in the Eisenhower High School cafeteria.
