Eisenhower High School water polo player, Tessa Werner, was named Female Athlete of the Week in the San Bernardino Sun newspaper. In the Tuesday, December 19, 2000, edition of The Sun, Werner was recognized for scoring a total of nine goals, six assists, and seven steals in two games last week.
As mentioned in the article, Coach Mike Gibson commented that Werner is good offensively and defensively even though she is only 5'2" and probably weights less than 100 pounds. "I feel comfortable knowing she's out there."
