EHS DECA Competes at State Conference,
Goes on to International Conference
Eisenhower High School's Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) students
recently competed at the state DECA Conference in Costa Mesa.
The following
students received individual awards:
- Melissa Gibson* - Finalist in Business Financial Research
- Jeff Horne - Finalist in Marketing Math
- Brett Herrington - Finalist in Retail Marketing Associate Level
- Tony Horner - received 3 individual finalist awards in Retail Marketing
Management Level
- Peter Mobely - received a finalist award in Retail Marketing Management
Level
- Jackie Zelayandia* - received 2 finalist awards in Apparel and Accessories
Management Level
*May still have the chance to compete at the International competition.
The following students earned awards and qualified to compete in the International
DECA Conference in Orlando, Florida from Apr. 25 - 30.
- Dillon Hall, Tony Horner, and Peter Mobley - 1st place in E-commerce Business
Plan
- Dillon Hall - 1st in Business Service Management
- Casey Ploehm and Jerry Rowland - 1st place overall in Sports and Entertainment
Management
- Jennifer Gouailhardou - 4th place in Full Service Restaurant Management
after placing 1st in the written event
In addition, the Eisenhower Team placed 3rd in the Quiz Bowl competition.
