Prior to the first game, there was a 3-point shooting contest between Andrew
Bock (Eisenhower) and Mike Marra (Northfield Mt. Herman). After some initial
confusion, each contestant was allowed 60 seconds in which to make as many
of 25 possible 3-point shots as possible, with a "money" ball counting
double.
Marra shot first and got 18 points, but Bock edged him by the slightest of
margins with 19 points to capture the 3-point contest.
In addition, in the first game of the Feinberg All-American Classic the West beat the East, 92-79. The FAAAC featured the finest high school boy's basketball players in the country who have also excelled in the classroom. Each participant chosen were among high school seniors or post grad students who have committed to attend a four-year institution in the fall.
