On Friday, March 29, 2019, several classes signed up for a health and wellness program. The guest presenter, James Woods, spoke with the students about stress in their life and what they can do to improve their reaction to their stressors. Students were encouraged to practice deep breathing and stretching and even simple meditation. In addition, students were told about apps that they can use for coping strategies.
Feel Free 2 Feel Free is a culturally competent evidence-based yoga and mindfulness program for schools that provide social, emotional, and physical wellness, tools for students to develop skills for learning readiness, self-regulation, and positive school climate.
