At the November 13, 2019, Rialto Unified School District Board of Education Meeting, the Board of Education (with a 4 vote, and Board of Education Vice President, Nancy G. O’Kelley abstaining) approved a formal request in renaming the administration building at Eisenhower High School as the Nancy G. O’Kelley Administration Building. The request was brought to the RUSD Facilities Planning Committee by a three-decade long RUSD parent leader, a 2019 retired RUSD classified employee and current Rialto resident, Mrs. Kelly Valencia.
With a successful education career spanning four decades, this one hour ceremony honored Mrs. O’Kelley as a former middle and high school mathematics teacher, and an administrator (former assistant principal at Carter and Eisenhower High Schools and later, retiring as the Principal of Eisenhower High School). As many of the speakers noted, Mrs. O'Kelley bleeds GREEN and GOLD! Her family, friends, former students, and many dignitaries came out to honor this most deserving recognition of a distinguished and caring career.
