On Friday, January 29, 2016, State Senator Connie Leyva, who represents the 20th District, came and spoke to a group of about 350 Eisenhower students about career pathways and the importance of voting. During her one hour visit she spoke about what she did as a State Senator, such as writing bills and what her schedule is like. She answered a lot of questions about political things that are happening around the country. The senator also spoke about the Young Senator's program--which gives students the chance to complete Community Service projects and take a trip to Sacramento to see the capital.
